 The Favorite is a historical comedy-drama starring Emma Stone, Olivia Colman and Joe Alwyn. The movie follows Queen Anne of Britain and Scotland and the battle for her attention and wealth between Sarah Churchill, her advisor, confidant and secret lover, and Abigail Hill, Sarah's cousin and lady in waiting. Both Sarah and Abigail go to extremes to gain the affection of the Queen and to move up in their place in society in order to gain power.
