Nipsey Hussle released only 1 official album throughout his 14+ year rap career. Victory Lap debuted in the top 5 Billboard 200 and was even nominated for a Grammy. His music was the truest version of hisself, giving people the luxury of old school inspired rap with the hottest collaborations. Nipsey was more than the music, it was his way of giving the people the tools they needed in a way they could receive it. After a trip to his fathers homeland of Eritrea, Nip saw a brighter future for the people of South L.A. and around the country. He was exposed to a world where people with brown skin ran everything; he wanted that for his people here at home. Nipsey Hussle lived his life in love and light trying to do what most were scared to do. He was everything we would want in a community activist, someone who understood and lived the realities of everyday people and had realistic views and goals for these communities. He worked to inspire real change among communities despite his gang affiliation he made sure people knew there was more to life than what the streets can give you. Even days after his passing, communities have all come together to mourn the loss of the neighborhood hero that was Nipsey. Let the marathon continue. -DE
