(Columbus, CBIFF) The primary objective of the Columbus Black International Film Festival is to showcase Black filmmakers locally, nationally and internationally while, highlighting a spectrum of stories told by people of the African diaspora. This festival will also provide an advantage for filmmakers and the community to learn about the film industry through educational workshops and panel discussions, a safe space to showcase film and an opportunity to network with the filmmakers in the city. Columbus is the heart of America and home to some of the most creative Black filmmakers in the country. This festival will showcase new and emerging talent as well as talent that has represented our city for years.
The 3rd Annual Columbus Black International Film Festival will take place August 22-25, 2019. Submissions are now open!

(Cleveland, LaureLive) LaureLive is a weekend music, arts and culinary festival June 8-9, 2019. Held at Laurel School’s 150-acre Butler Campus, located in Russell and Chester Townships.
In addition to a weekend of great music in a beautiful setting, careful attention will be given to the culinary and family aspects of the event. Niccoló Paganini is known as one of the founding fathers of the modern violin technique. He is known best for his 24 Caprices for Solo Violin Op. 1. compositions and is a beloved artist. The violin was refitted in 1960 for modern playing and now travels the world to be enjoyed by music lovers everywhere. This violin has since received extensive use by some of the world's best violinists and is now coming to Columbus!

The Obama Foundation has picked its 20 fellows for 2019, all individuals actively working to change the world. The program brings together leaders from all over the world engaging with communities and fighting the good fight. What is the fellowship program? It's a two-year non-residential program created with the intention of bringing a wider audience to these individual's work and engaging communities to participate. Rivet welcomes Columbus artist Eric Blair for his solo exhibition Oh, Jeepers! This show will creep into the thematic solar system of Eric’s creative mind.
The artist reception will take place Saturday, May 7 from 7:00-10:00pm. The exhibition will be on display through May 31.

Dejiah Archie Davis is a multimedia artist from Cleveland, Ohio, who is anticipating on receiving her BFA in Fine Arts,from Columbus College of Art and Design. Her medium expands within painting, sculpture, video, and sound installation. She has exhibited at MOCA Cleveland, and other places such as Corrugate and Acock Galley. She is now focusing on her thesis show to be held at Columbus College of Art and Design. All We Were features installation art, paintings, sculpture, and collage. The show runs April 10 through April 20, with a reception on April 12 at 6 p.m. at CCAD's Beaton Gallery. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
