Who Is Taz Bentii?
Taz Bentii is an emerging hip-hop artist from Ottawa, part of a new generation of Canadian rappers determined to take the sound of the nation's capital to the world. Known for his melodic delivery, sharp songwriting, and energetic presence, he moves easily between introspective records and street-driven anthems.
He began seriously developing his career only a few years ago, but the progression has been rapid. His sound pairs contemporary melodic hip-hop with atmospheric production and personal storytelling, drawing on both Canadian and American rap.
From Ottawa to Atlanta, New York and Miami
Taz hasn't waited for the industry to come to him. He has recorded in Atlanta, New York, and Miami, completed a Texas tour, and built relationships across the North American music business.
His growing catalog includes collaborations with TVGUCCI, an artist associated with the OVO ecosystem, as well as work connected to Atlanta veteran DJ Holiday.
'Eleven Eleven' and the Streets Most Wanted Tour
His debut album, Eleven Eleven, arrived in July 2025. It introduced an artist balancing ambition, vulnerability, lifestyle, and the realities of coming up from Ottawa.
Taz supported the project with appearances and performances across Canada and the United States, including a run connected to Quincy "Big Heff" Taylor's Streets Most Wanted Tour.
What's Next: THE KID FROM OTTAWA
The momentum has carried through 2026 with "Texas Freestyle," "DEEBO," and "CALI" featuring DJ Holiday, all setting the stage for his next chapter: THE KID FROM OTTAWA.
More than a project title, THE KID FROM OTTAWA is Taz Bentii's identity and his mission: to turn a hometown story into an international movement. The project puts Ottawa at the center of his narrative while showcasing the confidence, ambition, and versatility that have become his trademarks.
As Canadian hip-hop continues to expand its global influence, Taz Bentii is positioning himself as one of the next artists to carry it forward, from Ottawa to Atlanta and from Canada to the world.
