About Our Featured Guest Emil Barr
Emil Barr is a 23-year-old entrepreneur who founded his first business, Step Up Social, from his Miami University dorm room in 2021, scaling it to generate millions in revenue and attract high-profile clients. In 2024, Emil sold Step Up Social and co-founded Flashpass, an education technology platform that has grown to $5M in revenue within its first 18 months.
Flashpass:
- Flashpass is building software for governments to reduce unemployment. Growing to over $4M in sales in its first year and just raised a $4M+ seed round.
- We work with local trade schools and community colleges to develop skills-based training for in-demand industries like Broadband, Oil & Gas, and AI. Unlike most online education programs, its users are directly matched with jobs after they finish their 30-day training.
- Its state-wide programs in Ohio have seen 2,000+ students, 147 participating employers, and a 75% success rate.
