West End Blend is an R&B, soul group that incorporates high energy funk into their music to make groundbreaking tracks. They burst onto the music scene in 2015 with the release of their first studio album, Rewind. Since then they have released two more albums, including their first live record, Live at the Waterhole. To celebrate the release of their first live album, GroundSounds sat down with vocalist Erica T.  Hodgie's new album 'Ain't No Love' is a must listen! A product of the hopeless rust belt streets of Northwestern Ohio, Hodgie (formerly known as Hodgie Street) is the epitome of someone who’s conquered a hard knock life. Born in Lima to a single parent household, he quickly learned how survive in the streets. The difficult relationships his mother encountered during his childhood took a toll on him however, and it made selling drugs to support his family all but inevitable. The Georgia native started rapping along with his family members, Quavo and Offset, in 2008. The City Girls' career was catapulted by Drake's album 'Scorpion'. The City Girls had been featured on his hit song 'In My Feelings'. The day the album was released however, City Girls member JT started her two year prison sentence for credit card fraud. With her partner in prison, Young Miami has been keeping the group going and moving forward with the momentum they gained from their appearance on Drake's album. The City Girls are set to release a new album in November, a month before JT's release from prison.
