What is "Peaches & Eggplants" about?
The title is emoji shorthand, and the song is as playful as that suggests. Nudy and 21 Savage trade flirtatious, exaggerated verses over a bouncing beat, with Nudy mimicking gunshot sounds between lines. It is a party record that never takes itself seriously, which is a large part of why it spread.
Who produced "Peaches & Eggplants"?
Coupe produced the track and co-wrote it with both rappers. It came out on RCA Records.
Are Young Nudy and 21 Savage related?
Yes. The two Atlanta rappers are cousins and have recorded together for years.
How big was the song?
It went to rhythmic radio on May 16, 2023, peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is certified double platinum in the United States. A remix with Latto and Sexyy Red followed on September 8, 2023.
What is Gumbo?
Gumbo arrived February 28, 2023, on RCA as Young Nudy's fourth studio album. Coupe served as chief producer, with Pi'erre Bourne among the other contributors, and the guest list stayed short: 21 Savage on "Peaches & Eggplants" and Key Glock on "Pot Roast." The album peaked at No. 83 on the Billboard 200 and earned an 82 on Metacritic, with Pitchfork scoring it 7.7.
Who is Young Nudy?
Young Nudy, born Quantavious Thomas, came up on Atlanta's east side, where he lived in the Paradise East apartments that later gave his label its name. He built a following with the Slimeball mixtape series starting in 2016, then reached No. 63 on the Billboard 200 with Sli'merre, his 2019 project with Pi'erre Bourne. That same year he landed his first Hot 100 entry on Dreamville's Grammy-nominated "Down Bad" with J. Cole, JID, Bas and EarthGang.
What has Young Nudy released since?
He reunited with Pi'erre Bourne for Sli'merre 2 in November 2024 and followed with the album Paradise in August 2025, led by singles including "Iced Tea" with 21 Savage and Project Pat. The cousins also linked up on "Stepbrothers" in 2025, and his Latto collaboration "What's Happenin'" took off on TikTok. In the fall of 2025 he joined JID on the God Does Like Paradise tour.
