Forbes and their partner Revolution have created a list of ten emerging cities for startups that are set to thrive in the future. The goal of identifying these cities is to highlight areas where the costs for beginning these startup companies is more attainable than places like Silicone Valley. Forbes set out to compare the 30 largest metro areas, eliminating the the 10 metro areas that had received the most amount of VC funding over the past 3 years. The area’s education levels, college presence, entrepreneurship rates, working-age population growth and centre capital investments were all compared to determine the best cities. Columbus, Ohio was identified as the number one location for rising startups.
