Crux Labs Raises $6M+ to Align Enterprise AI Agents With Human Judgment

The New York startup exits stealth with Benchstrength and Misneach co-leading an oversubscribed round.

Crux Labs, a New York-based startup building a platform to align enterprise AI agents with human judgment, has emerged from stealth with more than $6 million in an oversubscribed funding round co-led by Benchstrength and Misneach.

Analog Ventures and Pareto Holdings also participated. The company did not disclose a valuation or specify the stage of the round.

Princeton Founders With Enterprise AI Mileage

Cofounders Julie Kheyfets, the CEO, and Krishna Kulkarni, the CTO, met at Princeton. Kheyfets has spent a decade deploying AI in complex industries, including leading North America for Tractable AI and serving as CEO of Block Renovation. Kulkarni previously led brand engineering at Meta, developed AI products at Checkr and helped scale Healthify from zero to 20 million patients.

"Aligning AI agents to human judgment is one of the biggest challenges of our time," Kheyfets said.

Reviewing Every Interaction, Not the Top 1%

Enterprise agent deployments can involve thousands to millions of user interactions per day, yet many teams manually review only the top 1% of agent traces or less, SiliconANGLE reported. Crux is built to close that gap.

The platform captures expert judgment inside companies' existing workflows, builds and calibrates custom agent evaluations around it, monitors 100% of production traffic and ships agent improvements to production. SiliconANGLE reported that Crux uses its own agents as evaluators, calibrating employees' expertise across millions of interactions so workers don't have to review small samples by hand.

Kulkarni described the product as one that turns domain expertise into continuous agent improvement, so engineers can build agents aligned with the business. The pitch is that engineering teams know how to build agents, while subject matter experts know what success looks like, and Crux connects the two.

Early Enterprise Traction

Crux says it has seen traction with high-growth startups and Fortune 500 enterprises in healthcare, cybersecurity, financial services and other complex industries. It did not name customers or share revenue or usage figures.

The company plans to use the new funding to expand research and engineering and accelerate deployments with enterprise customers.

"The companies that win with AI will have agents that reflect the judgment of their best people," said John Monagle, general partner at Benchstrength. Monagle added that Crux makes this possible across every agent interaction and that the founders are uniquely suited to build it.

Why It Matters

As companies push AI agents from pilots into production, the bottleneck is shifting from whether an agent can complete a task to whether it completes it the way the business would. Generic benchmarks don't capture how a claims adjuster, a security analyst or a compliance officer actually makes calls, and spot-checking a sliver of traffic leaves most decisions unreviewed.

Crux is positioning itself in that gap: an evaluation and improvement layer tuned to each company's own experts rather than a one-size-fits-all scorecard. The oversubscribed round and a founding team with deployment experience at Tractable, Meta and Checkr give it a credible start. The test now is converting early Fortune 500 interest into named, scaled deployments.
