Daptic Raises $15M Series A for Product Compliance Software
Canvas Ventures led the round for the New York startup, which builds regulatory requirements into how manufacturers design products.
Daptic, a New York City enterprise software company focused on product compliance for manufacturers, has raised $15 million in a Series A round led by Canvas Ventures. IA Ventures and 8VC also participated, according to a report from The SaaS News.
The round brings Daptic's total funding to $22 million.
What Daptic Does
Daptic builds what it calls product compliance lifecycle management software. The platform is designed to bring regulatory requirements into the product design and development process itself, rather than leaving compliance as a checkpoint at the end.
It does that by connecting the groups that each hold part of the answer. Regulatory, legal and engineering teams, along with outside specialists, work in a single system instead of passing documents and spreadsheets back and forth. The goal is for an engineer making a design decision to see the rules that apply to it at the moment the decision is made.
The Problem Daptic Is Solving
Manufacturers sell into a patchwork of rules that differ by country, product category and material. Safety standards, chemical restrictions, labeling rules and environmental reporting requirements all change over time, and a product that is legal to sell in one market may need modification for another.
In many companies, tracking those obligations still depends on institutional knowledge and manual review. When a requirement surfaces late, after tooling is ordered or a design is locked, the fix is expensive. It can mean redesign, delayed launches or inventory that cannot be shipped.
Software that surfaces requirements early changes the economics. Compliance becomes an input to design, not a gate at the end of it, and the cost of meeting a rule drops sharply when it is known at the start.
How Daptic Will Use the $15M
Daptic plans to use the Series A to deploy its product portfolio across client organizations and to continue investing in research and development.
That points to a company moving from early customers toward broader rollouts inside large manufacturers, where a deployment has to reach multiple business units, product lines and regions before it delivers its full value.
Why the Daptic Funding Matters
Engineering teams have long had dedicated systems for managing product data, and legal teams have had tools for contracts and matters. The space between them, where a regulation becomes a design constraint, has remained largely manual.
Investors are increasingly backing software built for that gap. Regulatory complexity is rising across manufacturing, driven by new sustainability rules, shifting trade policy and tighter product safety regimes. Companies need to prove compliance, not just achieve it, and that requires a record of how each requirement was addressed.
Canvas Ventures leading the round, with IA Ventures and 8VC alongside, gives Daptic experienced enterprise software investors as it scales. With $22 million raised, the company has the resources to expand its deployments and deepen a product aimed at one of the less glamorous but most costly problems in bringing physical goods to market.
