Detroit Ché: Westside Detroit Rapper Puts the City on Record With ‘CHIZZY THE MIXTAPE’

The recording artist, producer, director and model turns survival and hometown pride into an 11-track statement.

Detroit Ché does not separate the music from the picture. The Westside Detroit artist works as a rapper, producer, director and model, and “CHIZZY THE MIXTAPE” is where all four roles meet.

Released September 30, 2025, the 11-song project builds on the 2024 single “DETROIT CHIZZY,” the track that gave the tape its name and its attitude. Titles such as “PRETTY FROM THE D,” “SUPER CHÉ” and “LAMBO (GO GET IT)” carry the swagger. “MAMA CHIZZY INTERLUDE” points to the family story underneath.

That balance is the point. Detroit Ché describes the work as drawn from things survived and witnessed, and from emotions that were hard to say out loud. The result holds the culture, hurt, pride and hope of one Westside life.

The catalog goes back to the 2015 single “Kamikaze” and the 2017 EP “Chénges.” A decade in, Detroit Ché was named among the artists in Metro Times’ 2026 Metro Detroit Music Issue.

“CHIZZY THE MIXTAPE” is streaming now.
