Future Builds a Robot Girlfriend in "Build a B*tch" Video and Fans Can't Unsee the Ending

Cole Bennett's black-and-white Lyrical Lemonade visual turns scrapped 1980s pizza-parlor animatronics into Pluto's idea of the perfect woman.

Future could have cast a model. Instead, he picked up a welding torch. The Atlanta rapper's new official music video for "Build a B*tch" follows him into a workshop where he assembles his ideal woman out of scrap metal and decades-old robot parts, and the internet has not stopped talking about what walks out.

Released October 6 through Lyrical Lemonade, the clip pulled in more than 474,000 YouTube views in its first two days, with a comment section split between praise for the concept and people who say the final shot will follow them to bed.

Cole Bennett Raids a 1980s Pizza Parlor for Parts

Lyrical Lemonade founder Cole Bennett directed the video and shot it entirely in black and white. The robot at the center of it was built from salvaged pieces of the Rock-afire Explosion, the animatronic house band that played ShowBiz Pizza Place restaurants across the country in the 1980s and has kept a cult following ever since.

That choice is the whole trick. The song's premise is a man engineering a partner to his own specifications, and Bennett answers it with machinery that was never designed to look human. The more Future tinkers, the stranger the result gets.

The Ending Fans Can't Shake

Viewers caught the vibe immediately. The most-liked comments under the video compare the finished creation to Five Nights at Freddy's, the horror game franchise built around haunted pizzeria animatronics, and several call the closing reveal pure nightmare fuel. Others point out that Future, now in his 40s, is still handing out records that sound this cold.

The credits explain why it looks so convincing. The production carried a dedicated animatronics lead in Jack Turner and an on-set welder in Adrian Wright, alongside director of photography Ethan Wen, production designer Orly Romay and visual effects by Frender. Lyrical Lemonade also released a behind-the-scenes video showing how the build came together.

'The Real Me' Keeps Stacking Records

"Build a B*tch" comes from The Real Me, Future's 10th solo studio album and his 12th No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The project also gave him his 17th leader on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, tying Drake and The Temptations for the most in that chart's history.

The video arrives on the heels of "California Girls," another cut from the album that climbed to No. 1 at U.S. urban radio in September. Next up is a set at Camp Flog Gnaw in November.
