GoWish Raises an Undisclosed Sum at a Valuation Above $200M

The Copenhagen wishlist app has confirmed neither the size of the round nor a single investor, leaving the reported valuation as the deal only firm number.

GoWish has raised fresh capital at a valuation of more than $200 million while disclosing neither the size of the round nor the name of a single investor — an unusual silence for a Danish app whose user base is now roughly half American.

Bloomberg reported the round on Monday, Aug 24, 2026, putting the valuation above $200 million. Beyond that figure, almost nothing is on the record: as subsequent coverage noted, neither the amount raised nor the identity of the investors has been independently confirmed, and GoWish itself has published nothing. The VentureTerminal deal feed lists the transaction as an undisclosed seed round in e-commerce; that label does not fit a company founded in 2015 that has been majority-owned by Danish investor Dotcom Capital since 2020 and sold roughly a third of itself to London private equity firm Capital D in January 2025, also at an undisclosed price. Treat the stage classification as unverified.

What the company does

The product began inside PostNord as Oenskeskyen, or wish cloud, a wishlist service the Danish-Swedish postal operator launched in 2015. Dotcom Capital bought it in 2020, after which Casper Ravn-Sorensen and Mads Dahlerup spun it out as a standalone company, with Dahlerup as chief executive. Users build lists by pasting a URL, searching a product catalogue or browsing inspiration feeds, and friends buy the items at the retailer. The money comes from roughly 65,000 affiliate partnerships and more than 700 direct brand relationships, with some brands now placing a GoWish button on their own sites.

The numbers behind the round

GoWish reports more than 18 million registered users, over nine million of them in the United States and about 3.5 million in Denmark, where the app reaches more than half the population. In 2024 the platform recorded 194 million wishes, which the company frames as EUR 10.7 billion of cumulative buying intention. Gross profit rose to DKK 72.5 million in 2025 from DKK 70.1 million a year earlier, while the business swung to a net loss of DKK 6.2 million from a DKK 11 million profit, with DKK 29.2 million spent on platform development and headcount passing 100.

Why the timing matters

A gifting platform books most of its value in the fourth quarter, so capital arriving in August is capital that can be deployed before the season rather than after it. The 2025 loss, set against rising gross profit and heavy development spending, reads as growth bought deliberately, and the growth is American: board chairman Rich Waterworth has said that half of registered users are now in the United States, calling that share truly exceptional. What the round does not yet explain is who is funding the push, or whether Monday money is new capital for the company or a partial exit for its existing owners. Until GoWish or its backers say, the valuation is the only hard figure attached to the deal.
