Myca Raises $1.3M Pre-Seed to Bring AI Automation to Agribusiness

The Indian startup turns field data into automated sales, survey and credit workflows for companies that serve farmers.

Myca, an Indian startup building AI software for agribusinesses, has raised $1.3 million in a pre-seed round. Kriscore Capital, Eximius Ventures and Indigram Labs Foundation backed the company, according to a report from The SaaS News.

The funding will support the expansion of Myca's AI platform, which is aimed at companies that sell to, buy from and lend to farmers.

What Myca Does

Myca builds AI tools for the businesses that operate around the farm: input sellers, buyers, lenders and others whose work depends on staff travelling from village to village. Its software takes the information gathered in the field and turns it into structured business processes.

In practice, that means automating work such as sales, surveys and credit operations. These are tasks that agribusinesses have traditionally handled with large field teams, paper forms and phone calls. Myca's pitch is that a company can extend its reach across more villages without adding staff at the same rate, keeping operating costs steady as it grows.

The Founders Behind Myca

Myca was founded by Arnav Pandey, who serves as CEO, Seamus Tardif, the chief revenue officer, and Tejas Dinkar, the chief technology officer. The team combines experience in agriculture and in technology.

Why Field Data Is the Core Problem

Agriculture in emerging markets runs on fragmented information. A single agribusiness may deal with thousands of smallholder farmers spread over a wide area, each with different crops, land sizes and needs. Knowing who bought what, who needs a visit and who is a good credit risk depends on data that is often incomplete or locked in a field agent's notebook.

That gap is most costly in lending. Without reliable records, lenders struggle to assess farmers and to recover loans, which keeps credit expensive or unavailable. Myca's longer-term aim is for better structured field data to improve credit scoring and loan recovery, replacing manual systems with AI-driven coordination and risk assessment.

How Myca Will Use the $1.3M

The company plans to use the pre-seed capital to expand its AI platform for the agribusiness industry. Its ambitions extend beyond India: Myca has outlined plans to launch across Southeast Asia, Latin America and Africa as well as its home market.

Those regions share the same basic structure, with large numbers of small farms served by businesses that rely on field staff. A product that works in rural India has a plausible path into each of them.

Why the Myca Funding Matters

Much of the first wave of agritech investment went to marketplaces and farmer-facing apps, many of which proved expensive to scale. Myca is taking a different angle by selling software to the agribusinesses themselves, which already have the farmer relationships and the budgets.

It is an early-stage bet, and a $1.3 million round is small. But it reflects a wider shift in how investors approach AI: away from general-purpose tools and toward products built for the workflows of a single industry, where the data is messy and the incumbents have been slow to modernize.
