PARSONS AVENUE STREET REHABILITATION

Project Description:
  • Project area is along Parsons Avenue for approximately 725’ between Broad Street and Franklin Avenue.  Limits are bounded on the north, west and south by the termination of ODOT’s I-70/71 project, Phase 3.  
  • Project consists of pavement reconstruction of Parsons Avenue, relocation of the curb line and installation of curb bumpouts to define the parking areas.  
  • Streetscape improvements include: Removal, replacement and widening of the existing sidewalks; new street trees and new street lighting. 
  • Traffic signals at Parsons Avenue & Broad Street  and Parsons Avenue & Oak Street will be upgraded. 
  • A westbound left-turn lane from Broad Street to Parsons will be added. 
  • Utility work includes the undergrounding of existing aerial distribution facilities, water line replacement and improvements to the storm sewer system.
Schedule:
  • Design:  Scheduled for completion in summer 2016
  • Utility Relocation:  Scheduled for completion in autumn 2016
  • Construction:  Scheduled to begin in autumn 2016
