RevRag.AI Raises $2.5 Million to Replace Bank Call Centers With AI Agents, and It's Coming to the U.S.

Already used by PhonePe, Razorpay and Bajaj Finance, the Indian startup is setting its sights on American insurers, card issuers and lenders.

The next time your bank app walks you through opening an account, answers your question in your native language or suggests a better credit card, there may not be a human anywhere in the loop. That is the future RevRag.AI is building, and it just raised $2.5 million to bring it to the United States.

The Indian startup closed a seed round of about ₹24 crore led by Accion, with participation from Cedar Hill Ventures, Wyser and Venture Catalysts, Ascendants reported. It follows an earlier $1 million raise from Powerhouse Ventures and angel investors including CRED founder Kunal Shah.

AI "Relationship Managers" for Financial Apps

RevRag.AI builds agentic AI "virtual relationship managers" that banks, lenders, insurers and other financial providers embed directly in their apps. The agents guide customers through onboarding, answer questions in multiple languages and help sell financial products, work that traditionally required call centers and branch staff.

Co-founder and CEO Ashutosh Singh claims the system can deliver up to 70% cost savings compared with traditional channels, though independent verification of that figure has not been disclosed. The company is also developing AI-powered cross-selling, real-time risk scoring and automated insurance claims handling.

From Savings App to Enterprise AI

Singh founded the company in 2023 with Neeraj Gupta and Pankaj Gupta, schoolmates who originally set out to build a savings-focused financial service. In early 2025 they pivoted to a software-as-a-service model for AI-powered customer interactions, a bet that has paid off quickly.

RevRag.AI now serves more than 45 customers in India, including some of the country's best-known fintech and finance names: PhonePe, Razorpay, Bajaj Finance, Motilal Oswal and IIFL. The company is targeting $50 million in annual recurring revenue by fiscal 2028.

The U.S. Expansion

The new capital will fund product development and an American push focused on insurance, credit cards and lending, three categories where customer acquisition and servicing costs are notoriously high. U.S. financial institutions are under pressure to cut service costs while improving digital experiences, making AI agents an easy sell if they can meet strict compliance standards.

Building Its Own Models

Perhaps the most strategic shift is technical. RevRag.AI started on third-party AI models but now plans to fine-tune its own multimodal small language models. Owning the models could lower costs, improve performance on financial conversations and reduce dependence on big AI providers whose pricing and policies can change overnight.

The broader market tailwind is significant. Industry projections cited by Ascendants value the global AI-in-fintech market at about $45.5 billion in 2026, with forecasts topping $241 billion by 2034.

For RevRag.AI, the challenge now is proving that a playbook built for India's mobile-first finance boom can win over American banks and insurers. If it can, the company's small seed round could look like a bargain.
