Robb Banks at Rolling Loud India 2026: Meet the Cloud-Rap Cult Hero Landing in Mumbai
A Tumblr-era mixtape star with a Naruto obsession, a Raider Klan past and more than a decade of releases.
Before streaming algorithms ran the show, Tumblr made rap stars. Robb Banks was one of them, and on December 13 he brings that cult-favorite energy to Rolling Loud India in Mumbai.
Who is Robb Banks?
Born Richard O'Neil Burrell in New York City in 1994 and raised in Broward County, Florida, Robb Banks (stylized Robb Bank$) first caught fire with his 2012 mixtape Calendars, which spread across Tumblr. That same year he was tied to the Raider Klan scene. In 2013 his father, reggae star Shaggy, confirmed the family connection, a story the rapper has never needed to lean on: his own catalog does the talking, per his Wikipedia profile.
The sound
Banks is a Southern-rooted, cloud-rap-leaning voice with an abrasive, brash delivery. He samples old-school R&B, pop culture and Japanese anime. Naruto is his favorite, and "Femto," his alias, is a nod to a character from the manga Berserk. His tag line, "I Think I Might Be Happy," comes from a scene in the U.S. version of Skins. Nerdy, moody and unmistakably his.
Songs and projects to know
- "All the Way Live" and "On Me" (2013), from the Tha City mixtape
- "Pressure" (2015), lead single from debut studio album Year of the Savage
- "A Milli (4 M's)" (2018), a fan favorite
- "Shootout" (2022, with Lil Uzi Vert) and "Lifted" (2022, with Trippie Redd), from the long-awaited Falconia era
He has also worked with Wifisfuneral, Chris Travis, Famous Dex and Tony Shhnow, and was part of the Members Only collective co-founded by XXXTentacion. His discography keeps growing: I Think I Might Be Happy (2024), Tha Leak 3 (2025) and 2026 releases Rich Badness and Unhappy - Side A.
Why catch the set
