Brooklyn Rapper Scar Lip's "Come Outside": Lyrics Meaning & Video

Scar Lip does not do subtle. The Bronx-born, Brooklyn-raised rapper built her name on raw, aggressive delivery, and "Come Outside," produced by N.Y Bangers, is one of the hardest records she has put out yet. HotNewHipHop called it one of the angriest cuts of its week.

What does "Come Outside" mean?

In New York street talk, telling someone to "come outside" is a dare: stop talking online and settle it in person. Scar Lip builds the whole song around that challenge. The lyrics are a run of call-outs aimed at anyone who doubts her or talks tough from a distance, delivered with the shouted, confrontational cadence that has become her signature. It is less a story than a standoff, and the hook keeps returning to the same invitation.

The sound

N.Y Bangers, the producer behind her breakout "This Is New York," keeps the beat stripped down: a piano loop and sparse percussion that leave all the space for her voice. There is no radio polish here. The minimal production makes every line land harder.

When did "Come Outside" come out?

Scar Lip first released "Come Outside" as a YouTube-exclusive song and music video on July 25, 2026. It arrived on streaming platforms on October 9, 2026.

Who is Scar Lip?

Scar Lip, born Sierra Lucas, was born in the Bronx and raised in Brooklyn. Her stage name comes from a scar on her lip she got as a teenager. She first went viral with "Glizzy Gobbler" in 2022, then broke out in April 2023 with "This Is New York," which exploded on TikTok and earned a West Coast remix with Snoop Dogg, "This Is Cali."

That same spring she appeared on "Take 'Em Out" with Swizz Beatz, Jadakiss and Benny the Butcher, and in June 2023 she signed with Epic Records. "No Statements," released that September, became her first Billboard chart entry, peaking at No. 23 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.

What's next for Scar Lip?

Her debut EP, Scars & Stripes, has been announced with production entirely by Swizz Beatz. A release date has not been set. Until then, "Come Outside" is a clear sign she has no plans to soften her sound.
