Steel Banglez Is Bringing the UK's Biggest Beats to Rolling Loud India

The Forest Gate producer behind Fashion Week and 47 has Punjabi roots, a long list of hits and a new EP.

If you've heard a UK rap or Afrobeats banger from the last decade, there's a fair chance Steel Banglez had a hand in it. The London producer and artist of Punjabi descent is booked for Rolling Loud India on Saturday, December 12, 2026, a homecoming of sorts for a man whose name nods to the steel kara worn by Sikhs.

Who he is

According to Wikipedia, Steel Banglez is Pahuldip Singh Sandhu, born in Forest Gate, East London in 1987 and raised in Newham. He started DJing jungle at age 10 and was on pirate station Mystic FM early on. He made his name producing for UK rap and grime figures including Wiley, Krept & Konan, Yungen and MoStack, and his discovery and production work on MIST's 2016 EP M I S T to the T helped launch a new wave.

The run

In 2017 he signed to Warner Bros. Records with his own imprint, and that year picked up Producer of the Year at GRM Daily's Rated Awards. He later won Best Non-Traditional Asian Act at the BritAsia TV Music Awards in 2018 and 2019.

Tracks to know

"Bad" (2017), with Yungen, MoStack, Mr Eazi and Not3s, was his first chart hit as lead artist, reaching No. 29 on the UK Singles Chart. "Fashion Week" (2019), with AJ Tracey and MoStack, is his biggest at No. 7. "47" (2019) paired him with the late Sidhu Moose Wala, MIST and Stefflon Don and reached No. 17, a key bridge between UK rap and Punjabi music. He also appears on AP Dhillon's "Brown Munde" (2020).

His debut album, The Playlist (2023), peaked at No. 29 on the UK Albums Chart and featured Giggs, Aitch, Ghetts, Stefflon Don and Burna Boy. In March 2025 he followed with the EP One Day It Will All Make Sense, which GQ India described as blending rap, R&B, Afrobeat and classical music, with guests including AP Dhillon, Nas and Sid Sriram.

Why catch the set

His credits stretch across UK rap, Punjabi pop and Afrobeats, and he's worked with Burna Boy, who headlines the same day. Expect a catalogue of crowd-movers rather than a single lane.
