The Paradox Drop 'It's Over' — And Fans Can't Stop Calling Them 'Black-182'

The Atlanta four-piece's new visualizer is closing in on 350K YouTube views in under a week, and the comments read like a 2003 yearbook.

Pop-punk's most talked-about new band just gave the internet another reason to dig out the studded belts. The Paradox released the official visualizer for "It's Over" on October 1, and in under a week the clip has pulled roughly 348,000 YouTube views, 16,000 likes and more than 800 comments.

The top comment, with 1,500 likes of its own, is three words long: "I love black-182."

Why "It's Over" Is Blowing Up

At two minutes and 42 seconds, "It's Over" wastes nothing. It is fast, loud and built on the kind of nasal, shout-along hook that ruled rock radio two decades ago. Viewers have noticed. The comment section is a wall of nostalgia, with fans comparing the track to the closing scene of an early-2000s teen movie, lobbying for a spot on the next Tony Hawk's Pro Skater soundtrack and declaring that the genre they grew up on is officially back.

The visualizer was creatively directed by Mark Obriski, filmed and edited by Dev Johnson, with grip and lighting by Carlos Rojas.

Who Are The Paradox?

The Paradox are an Atlanta four-piece: Eric Dangerfield on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Christopher "Xelan" Bernard on lead guitar and co-lead vocals, Donald Bryant on bass, and Percy "PC3" Crews III on drums. The band formed in June 2024 and went viral almost immediately with debut song "Kaitlyn," landing opening slots for Green Day and Jack White within weeks.

The run since has been steep. Their 2025 EP NSFW arrived through Hundred Day, a Virgin Records imprint, and included "Bender," a collaboration with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. In January 2026, "Get the Message" hit No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart, making The Paradox the first all-Black punk band to top it. The song also landed on the NBA 2K26 soundtrack.

"It's Over" follows 2026 singles "Good for Me" and "That's Not Fair," keeping the streak alive.

The Paradox Tour Dates

The band is on the road this fall. Upcoming stops listed alongside the video include House of Blues Dallas on October 14, House of Blues Houston on October 15, and ACL Live in Austin on October 16. Columbus gets its turn on Wednesday, November 4, when The Paradox play A&R Music Bar at 7 p.m.

The Bottom Line

Pop-punk revivals come and go. What sets The Paradox apart is that the songs hold up without the nostalgia, and "It's Over" might be their tightest yet. If the comment section is any indication, the pit is about to get a lot more crowded.
