Tinashe Makes It Look "Too Easy" — and That's Exactly the Point

The multi-platinum disruptor returns with her first new single in two years, a sci-fi twist of a video, and a brand-new era underway.

Tinashe has always made confidence look effortless. With "Too Easy," she turns that effortlessness into the entire thesis.

Released June 5, 2026 by Tinashe Music, Nice Life Recording Company, and Atlantic Records, "Too Easy" arrives as the lead single from Tinashe's upcoming eighth studio album. The track was first teased live during her DJ set at the Do LaB stage at Coachella in April 2026, with the full song surfacing during a performance by the Dare on May 7 in New York City. Co-produced by Kimj and Zack Sekoff, the song was described in a press release as ushering in a new era for the artist.

"Too Easy" is a confident dance track built around fame, movement and self-assurance. The song opens in a party setting, with Tinashe calling for the music to be turned up as she leans into the energy of the club. Over a playful beat, she presents herself as someone who naturally commands attention, singing about feeling like a celebrity and making success look effortless. Co-produced by Kimj and Zack Sekoff, the track blends 2000s R&B and K-pop to create its dynamic, club-oriented sound — with the chorus sounding like something that could have been snatched from a NewJeans or ILLIT song.

"I, I feel like a celebrity / If you're mad, then go to therapy / But I can't, I can't help that I make it look so easy," she sings in the pre-chorus — turning jealousy and criticism into pure flex material. YouTube

The accompanying video matches the song's playful confidence with a high-energy, performance-driven visual. In the clip, Tinashe appears to be filming a video before the production suddenly turns dangerous, with lights breaking loose and crushing her. She is then brought back through a futuristic-looking tube, giving the video a strange, sci-fi twist — the visual plays with the idea of performance, fame and reinvention, showing Tinashe as someone who can be destroyed and recreated without losing control. Towards the end of the video, we arrive at a full-circle moment with Tinashe performing on the same stage that killed her in the beginning — completing her performance before being presumably crushed again. The message is clear: the music industry is hard and painfully taxing, even though she makes it "look so easy."

"Too Easy" marks Tinashe's first original release in two years, following back-to-back No. 1 charting hits with "No Broke Boys" alongside Disco Lines and "Nasty." "No Broke Boys" hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, was nominated at the BRIT Awards for International Song of the Year, and won Dance Song of the Year at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
