Who Is Sosocamo? The Camo-Clad North Carolina Rapper Heading to Rolling Loud India

A church-choir kid from Apex, NC turned a viral single into two albums in two years, and now he's crossing the world.

Camo hats, Bass Pro Shops energy and smooth, moody trap: sosocamo is not your standard festival rapper, which is exactly why his spot on the Rolling Loud India bill is worth noting. The North Carolina artist plays Mumbai on Saturday, December 12, 2026.

The story so far

Per The FADER, sosocamo is Cameron Sanders from Apex, North Carolina, about 30 minutes outside Raleigh. He grew up the youngest of four in a musical household, played guitar, sang in the church choir and started recording raps around 14. Some early songs were recorded in his mom's basement. Clash notes he cites a mix of hip-hop, gospel and country in his taste.

The sound

Think melodic, moody trap with an R&B lean. FADER lists Future, Brent Faiyaz and Pi'erre Bourne among his influences. His rural-South identity is part of the brand, from the camo in his name to a visual style built on outdoors staples.

Songs and projects

The breakout is "keep steady," which went viral and, per FADER, had nearly 70 million Spotify plays by February 2026. It led to a distribution deal and his debut album no service (2025), made with producers including Rio Leyva and with his girlfriend Grayto as executive producer. His second album, big country, followed in late February 2026, written largely in one-week producer camps in New York and Los Angeles.

Why catch the set

Because it's a rare chance to see a young Southern artist in the middle of a rapid rise, in a country where he's likely a fresh discovery for many. The Saturday bill also includes Burna Boy, Metro Boomin and Big Sean, so expect a wide-ranging crowd.
