Wrapped Health Raises $2.1M Pre-Seed to Turn Doctor Advice Into Orders

Co-led by Lightbank and ex-Headspace CEO Russell Glass's Arteria Capital, the D.C. startup plugs OTC recommendations into the EHR.

Wrapped Health, a Washington, D.C.-based healthcare technology startup, has raised $2.1 million in pre-seed funding co-led by Lightbank and Arteria Capital, the healthcare AI fund founded by former Headspace CEO Russell Glass.

The company did not name other participants or disclose a valuation. Dealroom reported that Wrapped launched in June and is already integrated with athenahealth.

Closing the Gap After the Exam Room

Clinicians routinely recommend over-the-counter products, but those recommendations often reach patients informally or sit in documents that are easy to miss. Wrapped Health says it is building AI-native infrastructure to bring agentic commerce to healthcare, connecting clinical care and consumer health.

The platform integrates into the electronic health record, reads clinical context and recommends health products at key points in care, including pregnancy, chronic condition management and post-surgical recovery. Patients are then connected to retailers, with fulfillment through major retailers and the option to pay with FSA and HSA benefits. The company cites CMS estimates that Americans spend nearly $124 billion a year on OTC medicines and other non-durable medical products.

"Patients can buy almost anything with one click, except the products their doctor tells them they need," said Max Russell-Harris, Wrapped Health's co-founder and CEO.

According to the company's website, Russell-Harris started Wrapped after his father's surgery, when getting the recovery products his care team recommended became a burden for the family.

Live on athenahealth, More EHRs Next

Wrapped is available through the athenahealth Marketplace to more than 180,000 clinicians on the athenaOne network. Dealroom reported that integrations with Epic, ModMed and eClinicalWorks are planned but not yet live.

The pre-seed capital will go toward expanding product and engineering, integrating with additional EHR systems, and building partnerships with provider organizations, health systems and digital health platforms.

A Consumer Health Veteran Among the Backers

Arteria's founder brings a consumer lens to the deal. "One thing I've learned building consumer health companies is that convenience is what drives people to take action," said Glass, founder and general partner of Arteria Capital and the former CEO of Headspace. Glass argued there is a disconnect between the guidance patients receive from providers and the products they need to manage their health.

Lightbank partner Eric Ong made a similar case, saying Wrapped turns a clinician's recommendation into a one-tap order delivered the same day.

Why It Matters

Healthcare has digitized the high-stakes parts of a visit, from prescriptions and labs to imaging, but the everyday advice to pick up a brace, a supplement or a recovery kit still tends to walk out the door with the patient. Wrapped is betting that the EHR, rather than a consumer app, is the right place to capture that moment.

Starting inside athenahealth gives the startup a large clinician base on day one, and its investors' backgrounds point to the bet being made: that convenience, applied at the point of care, can move spending that already exists into a trackable, benefits-eligible channel. The planned Epic, ModMed and eClinicalWorks integrations will determine how far that reach extends.
