Dubba-AA's journey to Grammy success is a testament to his dedication and hard work. Despite being kicked off the TSU band when he was a student there for choosing to pursue his artist career over staying in the drum-line, Dubba-AA never lost sight of his passion for music. He honed his craft as a producer, eventually becoming a multi-platinum producer and now, a Grammy Award winner.

His success did not go unnoticed by the university, which built a recording studio on campus in Dubba-AA's name in honor of his achievements in the music industry. This gesture was a fitting tribute to the man who had once graced the halls of TSU as a student and is now making a significant impact in the music world.
Dubba-AA's exceptional executive production skills were once again on display as he joined forces with the TSU band to feature on J. Ivy's "The Poet who sat by the door", which won the award for Best Spoken Word Poetry Album. This project marked J. Ivy's return to the music scene after a long hiatus and was a true testament to Dubba-AA's ability to bring out the best in artists.

Through his production work, Dubba-AA was able to bring J. Ivy's powerful words to life, creating an impactful and timeless album that will be remembered for years to come. Dubba-AA's production feature on the song "Listen" was a fitting tribute to his passion for spoken word poetry and his commitment to excellence in the music industry.
In a statement, Dubba-AA expressed his gratitude for the recognition and his excitement for the future.

"I am truly honored to receive these awards and would like to thank the Recording Academy for recognizing my work. I am also grateful to Tennessee State University and J. Ivy for entrusting me with their projects and allowing me to be a part of their vision. Having my mother and father join me on 'Purpose' and becoming Grammy award winners as well is a dream come true. I am excited to continue pushing the boundaries of music and to continue creating projects that leave a lasting impact."
