Did Teezo Touchdown Just Get Married? Inside 'Honeymoon Night,' the Wedding Video Fans Can't Stop Replaying
The Grammy-nominated Texan turns his fan-picked slow jam into a full wedding rollout, and it doubles as the first taste of his next album, Casting Call.
Teezo Touchdown is in a tuxedo, there is a bride in white, and the internet has questions. The Beaumont, Texas artist returned on October 7 with "Honeymoon Night," a slow jam that arrives with a full wedding storyline attached, and the "Pre-Wedding Photoshoot" video is already past 50,000 YouTube views in under a day.
So, did Teezo Touchdown actually get married?
No. The wedding is the concept. The bride is played by Jazzmin Oddie, with a credited cast of bridesmaids and groomsmen, a dance instructor and even a caterer listed in the video notes. Directed by Alondra Buccio, the clip plays like behind-the-scenes footage from an engagement shoot, and the description stays in character, promising to share the photos "once they come back."
It is one chapter in a series. Teezo released several "Honeymoon Night" visuals at once, including a "Cake Topper" edition, that follow the couple from the dress fitting to the first dance. He sealed the announcement with a line built for a caption: "I now pronounce me yours."
The song fans voted for
"Honeymoon Night" was not picked in a label meeting. Teezo ran a casting call, posted an audition tape of himself performing the record, and let fans choose it as the single. The result, out now through Not Fit For Society and RCA Records, is a breathy, late-night R&B cut about being completely gone over one person. One of the top YouTube comments compares the beat to Prince's "The Beautiful Ones," and the comparison is not a stretch.
What it means for Casting Call
The single is the first look at Casting Call, the follow-up to his 2023 debut How Do You Sleep At Night? No release date has been announced. He comes into it with real momentum: a first Grammy nomination for "Darling, I" with Tyler, The Creator, a sold-out 24-date Spend The Night World Tour, and writing credits on BTS's Arirang.
For an artist long known as the scene-stealing guest on other people's records, "Honeymoon Night" makes the case for Teezo as the leading man. Early reviews agree, with Ratings Game Music giving the track four out of five.
