My Brother's Keeper Alliance is hosting an online town hall meeting on December 12 at 2pm EST to address solutions to prevent youth violence. The event will be hosted by the MBK Alliance and Arne Duncan, former Secretary of Education and MBK Alliance Advisory Council Member. Duncan will be joined by representatives of Chicago CRED, New Life Center Chicagoland and Brokerick Johnson, the Chair of the MBK Alliance Advisory Council.
MBK Alliance was started in 2015 in order to ensure that boys, specifically boys of color, have the tools to succeed and grow. The initiative was orignially inspired by Obama's 2014 program, My Brother's Keeper, which worked to address the oppurtunity gap for boys. Soon after the launch of MBK Alliance, the Obama foundation made it an intiative of theirs in order to create a better future for the young men of America.
